since GW2 isnt gonna be instanced you could build houses/guild halls in the actual world not in a town. This would allow adventurers to stop by and see your loot. also a kind of selling merch thing could be implemented so ppl could buy some they liked if u have it up for sale. also maybe you could enter war with another guild(how guild wars should be) and u could go raid the other guilds hall and take over instead of being an instanced battle.

Houses to live in, like the Sims? Or houses to explore, like Final Fantasy? I'm all up for exploring, but having your own house in Guild Wars just isn't something I'd want.

I'd like GW2 to have thieving abilities. I could group up with some friends, gang-loot someone's home, then dash away into the darkness. Furthermore, to add a related skill to this feature:
Unseen Liquidation
Energy Cost: 25
Activation: 1 second
Recharge Time: 60 seconds
Elite Enchantment Spell: Shadow Step into target dwelling. For 10...60 seconds each second this skill is active transforms contents of dwelling into Gold in amounts of 20...60...100. When this enchantment ends you return to your location. For 10 seconds you move 50% faster and cannot be knocked down. This skill is disabled for 100 seconds.
Please, A-net! Please! WE want it!

how would that be used in GW 1 or 2? isnt that stealing from other ppl? so u can turn some1's ectos into 60g/ea? thast useless and has nothing to do with the houses

/not signed. WE don't want to be saddled with any expense involved in aquiring one. WE don't want houses that would do nothing but bolster someone's e-peen because they've got the most expensive one available. And WE don't want to play a video game where half the other "players" in-game sitting around playing house instead of doing what is meant to be done in GW PvE - adventuring in the countryside and laying waste to all that oppose us!
(And by "WE" I mean me and my friend Bob.)

I don't want a house.
I want an apartment.
One door and many people enter from there, and each one gets a virtual space.
That way we have an excuse for one door and many houses, and that way we don't have to make endless plains with houses and everyone could get one apartment.
That way one door can be used for many people, in a similar way the HoM works.

1. Of COURSE it is stealing and has everything to do with the houses. That is what I meant about a thieving system.
2. You don't turn ecto into 60g. In essence, it is just like salvaging. Salvage that ecto for the gold you can steal with this skill and whatever is left remains as gold in the victim's home.
3. The fact that I'm explaining this is sad and is probably making orphans cry somewhere. Learn to recognize a joke.

"We Really Don't Want Houses in Gw2"
Why do you want your house? To display your achievements? You have the Hall of Monuments for it. To fight for it? You have your Guild Hall.
If you want a house so that you can have your character walk around, take showers, watch television, and read, perhaps, you should stop playing Guild Wars and do such things in real life.
The whole houses thing never made sense to me, except in a game like Morrowind/Oblivion where you could store loot.
Guild Wars has a much different inventory system, and if you need a place to store your loot, then ask for more storage, not silly houses.
If you houses, then I legitimately want to be able to kill other players in towns. Both ideas are silly, but at least mine would be fun for about 10 seconds.

There's the Hall of Monuments, there's the Guild Hall, there are areas in Factions outposts. Anything more would be overkill, especially on an individual basis. Any residential zone would soon turn into a spam zone.

I wonder why...
Maybe I had another popular MMO with "Ultima" in its name, I'm too old to remember these things.
